Pagan Poetry is the representation of Virgin Mary with a surrealistic approach, inspired by the paintings and statues in Catholic and Orthodox iconography and from Paganism and Witchcraft. I used "Betume Colours, Acrilex" on the wood to make aging effect (old patina) and to look like Ebony (type of wood). The portrait was drawn with 0.35 faber-castell pencil on ivory paper. I used a lot of materials such as: pearls, chains, stones, crystals, insect, branch, dried flowers, found objects and at the top a vertebral column of a goat. Most of the items are found objects, my personal treasures from places i have been and they are connected with personal moments in my life.
