The San Javier neighborhood (Medellín, Colombia) was well known in the past for being a place of full violence, murders and drug trafficking. Groups outside the law, such as guerrillas and paramilitaries, disputed this territory. Between 2001 and 2003, San Javier was an epicenter of intense fighting with the public forces trying to recover this territory. Nowadays, San Javier tries to forget its past recreating places with food, colors, smell of coffee and friendly people who offer to tourists and visitors a beautiful hospitality.
