Those two illustrations are a slight sidestep from the series of cyberpunk characters. But really only to a certain extent, because Vampire Hunter D's story is set in the future of post–war and post–ecological catastrophe Earth which is spiced up by many pulp genres among others including cyberpunk/sci–fi. This is a tribute to one of my most favorite vampire stories, animated movies, and also to the work of Yoshitaka Amano.
