Magazine Cover Project
I was assigned to design a magazine cover whose topic was about "Hunt Season" in the Advertising and Marketing Communication Industry.
The idea of this design is to capture the nature supply and demand in the industry, in other words, the interrelationship between individuals, agencies, and clients. The "season" mentioned here is the period from September to November, when many creative awards, competitions and agencies' recruitment occur.
In the first step of the project, I have to find some preferences in order to understand the structures and features of each kind of animal: Bear and Salmon.
I decide to use an earthy color palette with slightly blue undertone.
This is my first sketch and digital painting demo.
However, this approach doesn't focus on the relation between the bears and the school of fish. Therefore, I have to create a close-up scene.
Sockeye salmons are perfectly fit in my drawing because of their vibrant red color.
A lesson I've gain from drawing this school of fish is that you have to give them a variety of depths, shades, and dynamic movements.
1. My second demo (to give my client a general idea about the palette and composition)
2. My final option for the front cover after adding some more details and effects. This can't be done without precious comments from my seniors :)
