With the rise of competitive video game leagues, one of the major problems the industry is faced with is a lack of physical community. Where athletics fans gather at gyms, sports bars, and community clubs, video game fans don’t have many places to go – with the exception of online forums and lobbies.
With the aim of becoming a community hub for video game lovers in Minnesota, Gamers Haven needed branding that could stand out with inviting appeal. The world of video games is imaginative, bright, and vibrant, and the branding aims to tap into that energy as something that can instantly appeal to video game enthusiasts.
To convey the fun and immersive world of video games, logo concepts referenced well-known imagery and retro 8-bit graphics.
As a start-up in the process of setting up their venue, Gamers Haven needed a way to visually show what their new lounge space would be like. Made of nearly 21,000 individual pixels, an animated 8-bit illustration served as a fun way to represent the new arcade space on social media and the Gamers Haven website.
