In 2014 I was tasked with the new logo design for African Virtual University in Nairobi, Kenya. Their old logo (see last image) was designed at the organizations inception. Unfortunately for AVU the original logo: 1. No longer represented where they were 15 years later, and 2. Similar logos are being used by many other organizations who's work is focused in Africa. My brief was simple, "Don't change the logo - evolve it." 

As in image one below, I kept the dots but less of them - and added the lines to give a more connected feel - and the power icon to represent all things digital.
