The Civic project worked with the Student Engagement and Enhancement team in Kingston University. Its overall aim was to increase awareness of democratic participation, rights and laws in various countries. The schme started with focus groups where participants talked about their views, opinion and experiences with democratic issues and politics within their own environment. At the end of a month of research, the team extracted 5 most relevant and unique stories and organised an exhibition around them. External partners, key speakers and the student body were all invited to attend a soiree representing a three month journey.

The project was very much directed at student involvement and interaction. Parts of the campaign involved pop up chalkboards around the Kingston campuses, which encouraged students to write their ideas about democracy, freedom and human rights.
