We were asked to do preliminary design studies for a music rehearsal studio that will be located somewhere in north Brooklyn. Before even finding a site, we analyzed budget constraints, programme elements and what a perfect site would entail. Conceived to inhabit a one story warehouse, preferably on a corner lot, this scheme looks at the relationship between common spaces and practice rooms. We explored the idea that spaces used for cafe and lounge space during the day, could be opened up into one larger performance space at night.
