Short Order Poems is a non-profit that offers on-demand poetry to the people.

The mission of Short Order is to bring poetry “out of its high tower of Academia” and into the hands of every day people.

No topic is off-limits. Poems are usually written in 20 minutes or less, while patrons wait for coffee or lunch.

Typewriters play an integral role. Usually vintage and always well-maintained, this manual approach allows poets to deliver writing that is “fresh off the press”. There are no takebacks, and small imperfections in the process. This makes each and every experience unique.

Short Order is, at its core, a mirror. The hearts of the people can be seen in trending topics that come and go with current

events. Short Order is less its own persona, and more a reflection of the prompter.
