The White Whale Artist Collective​​​​​​​

The title of the show comes from the idiom providing a livelihood or basic source of income; supplying the basic needs of life: a bread-and-butter job; the agency's bread-and-butter account. The show contained several works of art priced for less than seventy-five dollars.

The term "White Whale" has come to mean a number of things but in this depiction it manifests as a friendly creature intent on entertaining the audience and ensuring them that they'll love it. Don't be fooled however, this group of artists is consumed with the struggle of making art to the point that they would rather die than give up. Hence the name takes on a Melvillesque definition.
