Eye of the Beholder

Beauty fashion film. The idea behind the project is to illustrate the way we see beauty is all in the eye of the beholder and we have different ideas/criteria of what beauty is. This can apply to all aspects of life that we can’t group or stereotype as one person’s view is not 100% another person’s view.

The project involved shooting the model, Olivia doing a movement/facial gesture taking photos about every second. Then in post I sent out each individual frame (randomly) to a different retoucher from around the world. Working with 44 retouchers, all together there were 110 frames retouched.

Once I received all the photos they were put together into a sequence and I applied a morphing technique to show the transitions between each frame.

The retouchers were from the following countries, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Egypt, Netherlands, Hungary, Indonesia, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Peru, Poland, Russia, UK, Ukraine, USA and Vietnam.
