This tea set is a experimental project, exploring texture and structure of tea set.
The inspiration of this work came from on a trip to Wuyi Mountain， which is well-known forit’s Danxia Landform and tea. So I decided to combine them together to design tea sets. The geology of Wuyi Mountain is a typical example of Danxia Landform, which was featured with red rocks and paralleled carving texture caused by wind. Abstract the texture, simplify and Transform them into three-dimensional plus applicable texture.
I refer to the shape of some well-known mountains like the King of Peaks (with the shape of broad upper part and narrow lower part) and the Yunu Peaks (located randomly) in the area of Wuyi Mountain.
Model all the details in computer. Adjust the proportion and Make a careful consideration of the undecided details during the process of model making.
Make each piece of part by laser cutting. Dye a few parts by orchil with different concentration to test the right proportions. Pile every parts together as planned to get the actual looking. Dry the dyed component, wipe the water in the bottom and the dye residue on the surface. Adhere them by Trichloromethane.
Finally I made one teapot and two teacups. Both adopt the acrylic sheets with two different thickness to show the sense of layer.
