Star-Crossed is the title of this series. Star-crossed or star-crossed lovers is an expression that describes a couple of enamoured people whose relationships are often threatened by external forces. It also refers to the fate and inevitability of the two characters. It usually refers to unfortunate results similar to the affair of Romeo and Juliet, which has been tragically ended. I wanted to translate this into a photographic image. Two people who are emotionally or visibly far apart from each other because of the external forces that events and people can have on a relationship.
I shot these two portraits in the studio with one headlight. I removed the background with a star trail image that I took on the top of the mountain Tremalzo in Italy. I've retouched and coloured the images in Photoshop cc.
