Entertainment Sports Championship 2020
My Graduation Project (25-9-2017)
Graphic Design and Multimedia Department - Damascus University (Syria)

It's a Virtual Event or Campaign, I came up with the idea and was inspired by the ancient Syrian civilizations.

MISSION STATEMENT

Create a Visual identity and unique, modern flat designs but also inspired by old ancient statues that represents sports in a different, yet interesting way
by using amazing colors, graphics, icons, typeface... making a complete almost real campaign that may be done some day in real life.

The name was inspired by the name of a statue from the Assyrian civilization, which is famous for the winged bull statues, especially the Assyrian Kingdom.

- There is a statue of Lamasu (winged bull) on one of the doors of the city
(Dor Shrokin) built by the Assyrian king (Sargon II), a member of a couple.

- Lamasu is a mythical creature of mixed composition; in the Assyrian civilization, it symbolized strength, wisdom, courage and transcendence.

The Greek philosopher (Empedocles) put his theory:
"The world consists of four elements mixed together, in different proportions:
Water, fire, air and dust."
Based on his theory I divided sports into four categories.
And came up with this four element logo.

This group was symbolized by the fish, inspired from a vase of glass shaped like a fish in the Ugarit ruins on the Syrian coast. Its origin dates back to the Greeco-Romain civilization.

This group was symbolized by the lion, inspired from (Lion of Al-Lat in Palmyra) which decorated the temple and protected the refugees.

This group was symbolized by the owl bird inspired; from a marble statue from Mary civilization, with inscriptions resembling the owl. The eyes on the statue remind us of the glorious from the civilization of Tel Brak.
