Brand identity project for an English charity working overseas in India with community projects and orphanages.

Working with underprivileged children in Chennai, India, Chennai Challenge is a Christian charity based in the south east of England. I was asked to bring their identity up to date with a fresh new logo.

When the project started I was briefed to design a logo that combined the British and Indian flags. As we progressed however, it became clear that a key part of the charity is focused on the benefit to the volunteers as they are challenged to step outside their comfort zone.

Themes of excitement, fun, challenge, vibrancy, excitement and inspiration were therefore important and the logo needed to reflect those values more.

The logo featured a flame-like device in orange, green and white which formed an abstract letter C. This resulted in a strong, dynamic mark, parts of which could be cropped into to provide bold supporting graphics if required.

The logo now appears extensively on their website, stationery, promotional materials and event publicity.
