At the North-West edge of Caldera de Taburiente, more than 2000m above sealevel, wriggles the LP4 - Street with over 300 serpentines through the terrain to connect the East- and Westside of La Palma. Above the treeline the Island reveals its geolocical secrets. You can find a huge amount of different Rocks, Lava and Sand. Every kind of Stones, Colors and Shapes are next to each other - like a flowering Garding of Rocks. The Volcanic origin, Wind and the duration of over 2 million years are responsible for this beautiful and diversified landscape. You have also a stunning view over La Palma and other Canarian Islands like Teneriffe, La Gomera and El Hierro. In the middle of this beautiful Landscape, Nature and Views there is also the working area of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias - the "home to one of the most extensive fleets of telescopes to be found anywhere in the world."
