Week 2: Dry Brush Script
This week I chose to work with a dry brush script. I was inspired by all of the interesting brush script style lettering I see on almost a daily basis now due to the intense popularity of this lettering style. I found many different interpretations of dry brush script so I decided to use the images below as my most prominent inspiration.

Week 3: Blackletter
This week I researched and studied blackletter, I probably see blackletter everyday in a variety of advertisements and branding material, so I chose this type style because I wanted to explore something different that I have never tried before, and blackletter was the perfect type style for that.

Week 4: Casual Script
This week I am exploring casual script. I chose to work with this type style this week after scrolling through my Instagram and finding some examples, which I've included under inspiration. I chose to work with a simpler type style after last week's more intricate style. However, while working with this type style I realized just how difficult it is to create clean letter-forms.

Week 5: Reverse Stress
This week I explored the reverse stress style of type. I was inspired by the Orwellian typeface. Reverse stress is a type style in which the classic or traditional way of applying stress to a letter-form is reversed. This results in a very bold version of the type.

Week 6 - Vintage Postcard
This week I really wanted to create something that was really different for me. I had the idea to recreate a "vintage postcard," like the ones I had seen sticking out of memory books and pinned to bulletin boards. I decided to put my own twist on it by using really bright bold colors on my postcard.

Week 7 - Chalkboard Lettering
This week I worked with chalkboard lettering. I used to create chalkboard lettering quotes/words all the time when I was in high-school. I even used to collect random frames I would find lying around the house and turn them into chalkboards. I was never amazing at it but I enjoyed creating something with a medium I had never used in that way before. It was really cool for me to create this quote because I was able to see my growth over the past couple of years.

Week 8 - Digital Quote
I knew when I started this project I wanted to create a digital quote like the ones I see all over my social media. I also knew I wanted to combine type styles in this quote. So this week I finally created a digital quote. I went an extra step and added an animation.

Week 9 - Crayola Calligraphy
When I impulsively bought two 10 packs of crayola markers, I wanted to make sure I made good use of them, so this week I decided to participate in Crayola Calligraphy or crayolligraphy as it is now being referred to. Which is simply using a crayola marker to create letter-forms.

Week 10 - Matchstick Lettering
I definitely wanted to end this 10 week process with a bang, so I decided to create letters with matchsticks (and a whole lot of hot glue). I spent a long time thinking about this particular week, and how I would go about this and if it would even work, but I think the final product is really cool, and plus I got to burn it in the end.
