a reflection of worlds​​​​​​​

We were tasked to create a typographic work that explores a fad. We were asked to really dig deep and explore an angle to our selected fad that goes far beyond a surface level exploration thereof. The fad we chose was something familiar to both myself and my copywriter - The world of the video game, Diablo. Our execution went on to resemble the lore books found in the actual game, but with a personal touch that really allows the reader to clearly see the similarities between the gaming world and the reality of a player living an average life. The contrast between the two is clearly visible going from the game's extremes to the simple experiences of the life portrayed within. Our tone in terms of both copy and design drew powerfully from the contrast we set out to create, going from the simple statements made by the player typed out with a typewriter, to the intense, almost revelation-like statements made by his character in-game. At the end it all came together beautifully, and the message we wanted to convey is one that clearly comes across; it's not always about escaping, but sometimes about making a difference somewhere i know i truly can.
