" Good architecture lets nature in "      Mario Pei

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London. With it's amazing nature, where visitors enjoy the sun, trees, water, and ducks, it would be risky to introduce a building with rigid architecture. On the contrary, it must appear as a part of that nature.

The Hyde Park Library, is a library that is inspired from nature, and coherent with nature. Its fluid and dynamic architecture, along with being surrounded by water from all directions makes it look as an integral part of the nature, as a drop of water in the park, which is the main concept of its design.

The library's design not only is coherent with the nature from outside, but also it allows its visitors to continue feeling as a part of the nature through the central patio where they find the landscape imitating the exterior green nature. Moreover, the materials which are used are raw and durable, such as wood, to demonstrate the design concept- a part of nature.

The library's interior is designed to be one open space, where the people could feel the library as one space without any divisions. Also, the movement in the escalators in each floor adds life to the space, along with the outstanding stainless oval allows people to see amazing and attractive reflections of the library and the envelope. The floors are designed in a reciprocal order, to create integration between the people inside the library. The edges of the library are also used as seating areas viewing the amazing view of the Hyde park.
The library's architecture is meant to be eye catching, modern, and untraditional, to prompt the park's visitors to enter the library and read. The interior space is an open area where the visitors can interact with nature while reading, unlike the traditional libraries.

The design is environmentally friendly, and that is shown particularly in the panels design, where the transparent part increases and decreases seamlessly according to the amount of light needed.

Thank you..
