OBJECTIVE: To raise awareness of the need to donate towards a refit of the vessel LION NZ.
INSIGHT: There are a variety of specific and important roles that boating knots must play. They are needed to keep a yacht functioning and sailing safely through all kinds of situations. In parallel, there is an important role that we need people to play to secure the future of LION NZ, to donate to the refit.

Pins
Each pin is a different knot representative of a different role that is necessary for sailing
Buying and wearing a pin shows your support to keep LION NZ sailing
Pins will be available at retail stores in boxes at the till/counter for a small donation and we can partner with schools where they will give the pins to students who are already affiliated with NZ Sailing Trust and have a gold coin donation to purchase a pin.

Key Chain Package
A fundraising pack containing 3 different knot tutorials that double as keychains for a price point of $10
The pack will contain 3 pieces of string, 3 tutorials and also include the Carabiners and key-rings needed to make the keychains. The instructions can be printed on recycled cardboard and the rope can be from the boat itself. They will be sold at the Boat Show for a fundraiser and also make them available on their website and through Facebook. A smaller similar package will also be send to the established database as direct marketing.
Boat Show Competition
Each participant must complete a variety of knots ranging in difficulty whilst blindfolded. The prize will be an experience onboard the LION NZ after the refit awarded to the fastest person in each level.
To take part, participants will need to pay a donation of $5 that will contribute to the modernisation of LION NZ. The goal is for participants to play against their friends for the fastest time at the chosen level. In addition, the fastest attempt at each level will be recorded on the leaderboard. Our primary goal is to collect donations, but we also want people to have a fun and interactive experience with their friends.
