In late March of 2016, Michael's father was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lymphoma. The following months were emotionally grueling and physically taxing for the entire family. Michael’s father was the original inspiration behind growing his beloved moustache. He was also the motivation behind this social media campaign: The 30 Mo’s of Movember. Not only did this project serve as a creative outlet; it was Michael’s way of coping with his father’s experience with cancer and an opportunity to raise awareness and money for men’s health issues. The campaign’s success led to Michael’s nomination for the International Man of Movember hosted by the Movember Foundation. It was also featured on the McMaster Daily News, the Hamilton Spectator, and Virgin Mobile’s Uprising blog. Michael is now happy to share that his father is in remission
