"Celebrate Life" Concert Project

The "Celebrate Life" Concert Project
The purpose of this project was to design a website, animated logo, and promotional video for a fictional charity concert. All concert proceeds will be donated to efforts to save sea turtles. This will be an all-day concert turned festival, featuring the fictional reggae artists, Damien Lion and his band, The Little Wailers. The target audience is adults ages 25-45, and their family members. The event will be family oriented, filled with beautiful costumes and performers, and opportunities to dance amongst them all day long.
Concert Moodboard:
This moodboard is a direct representation of the theme of the Celebrate Life concert. It is festive, vibrant, loud, and energetic. The textures, color scheme, fonts, and imagery combined should demonstrate these adjectives, and lure the target audience to want to attend this exciting, yet charitable, Caribbean festival.
Preliminary Wireframes for Website Design:
Preliminary Sketches for Website Design:
Creating preliminary wireframes and sketches was the second step in designing the concert website. Based generally on the moodboard, the preliminary planning was the first step in understanding how the viewer would actually interact with the website, and receive necessary information from it. Not only is the content well planned, but the imagery, textures, and color scheme from the moodboard are beginning to be understood in real application. It was important to maintain a sense of unity and consistency between pages, while also being unique and true to the moodboard. Some ideas from these preliminaries to create this effect include the consistent placement of the navigation bar and logo, and using the sea turtle graphic to frame every single page.
Rough Draft of Website Design Comps
Both the rough and final drafts of the complete website design were based on the moodboard, wireframes, and preliminary sketches. The color palette, textures, and some of the imagery were all maintained from one step to the next. Most of the revisions were due to content, ease of navigation, and overall appeal of the website once it was put into its final intended format. From the rough draft to the final, many design changes were made. Most of these changes were intended to simplify the look of the website overall. The rough draft was a little too detailed. For example, in the first draft, the body copy was oversized, the sea turtle graphics were slightly impeding the rest of the design, and the black boxes created unnecessary detailing. There were also some necessary changes made concerning hierarchy, including the navigation bar and website title. Overall, these final changes make the website design the most appealing to the target audience by being concise, readable, legible, and extremely self-explanatory to navigate.

Animated Logo:
This animated logo provides a complete brand identity for the Celebrate Life concert. Using symbolism that directly represents the Caribbean and Reggae music, combined with an illustration of a sea turtle, represents the theme of the event overall. The audience will be able to know the title of the event, and understand the concert's mood and theme.
