SOFWERX is the Special Operations Forces Works in Tampa, FL. It is a military and technology focused non-profit which I had the privilege to intern with for a year.
For this Challenge Coin, I created the original design for the crest. I masked various elements to represent all four branches of the military, and included their motto to reference a military patch. I created the design with Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop and then worked alongside a third-party to have 50 of the coins created.
The (green) white board image on the right was sketched out by my boss, the images on the left are what I created.
The Coin design has since been adapted and used on a wide variety of assets for SOFWERX and overtime has become a logo mark that is often used with the classic SOFWERX word mark. Below are a few examples of continued use of the badge design by different designers.
