Frank Monte Centurion: Animal Lover

Frank Monte Centurion's owner Frank Monte is also an animal lover. “I’m fascinated with God’s creatures,” he says.

In 2011, researchers at UCLA and the California Institute of Technology reported that they had succeeded in measuring the brain activity in forty-one subjects. They discovered that the neurons in the amygdala became active when those subjects were shown photographs of animals. What that meant, one of the researchers explained, is that brain activity was greater when the subjects were looking at pictures of cats, dogs, and even snakes, than when they looked at pictures of buildings, or even other people.  Another researcher who was not involved in the California study explained it this way: when we look at our pets, the brain releases chemicals that make us feel good.

Frank Monte of Centurion understands this completely.
