e-Book Reader Design for Penguin Books

e-Book reader made by people who make books, not who sells books.

e-Books are the next generation of books. Like when the paper was invented, when the printing press was designed, glue binding replaced thread sewn bookbinding, e-books made the price of books lower, so people can read more books. It may not be the generational replacement of explosive pace that people initially expected, but the e-book market is growing slowly, but steadily.

e-Books can be viewed on almost any digital device, but the best way is to read them with the e-book reader. The Kindle is the most popular e-book reader. The Kindle is made by Amazon, and Amazon is not the company that makes books. It is the company that sells books. For Amazon, books are items to sell rather than products to make. If the e-book is a book anyway, I thought it would not be strange to be made the e-book reader by the publisher who made books from the past. I think books that are fun to read could be made by publishers like Penguin Books, rather than distributors like Amazon.

So, I imagined the e-book reader made by the iconic publisher, Penguin books. The form of buttons on the front is inspired by the shape of wings of the penguin. The back of the device is made with the original cover design of Penguin Books. the e-ink display is used in the middle part that the book title and the author are printed, so the back of the book can be changed according to the book being read. I hope these small ideas could make e-books more like books, and read with it is more delightful.
