Human Rights Watch Testimonial Ads Project

Human Rights Watch Testimonial Ads Project
These are reiterated versions of previous testimonial ads for Human Rights Watch, a non-profit organization that fights to protect the rights of humans worldwide. Each ad is represented by a spokesperson: the expert, the celebrity, and just plain folks.
Preliminary sketches for the testimonial ads
Preliminary sketches were created to give an idea of testimonial ad layout. The goal is to create an engaging campaign that will communicate the rights of refugees to the target audience (supporters and policymakers). Each sketch was thoroughly organized to help create a visual process that will eventually turn into complete and professional ads.

These are the colors used for the testimonial ads. Black, orange, and blue were used to represent the organization HRW, which can be found on many ads that the organization created. I've posted a picture of the website to compare it with the ads.
The Expert: Martin Luther King Jr.
MLK Testimonial Ad
Here is the first fully rendered testimonial ad that includes the civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. was used as the expert in this ad because he lived during the time of depression and fought for equal rights for everyone. With his expertise and association with his rights being violated he is the perfect fit for this spokesperson criteria.
The Celebrity: Barack Obama
Barack Obama Testimonial Ad
Next is the 44th president of the U.S. Barack Obama. He fits the celebrity criteria because of his popularity and is well-known. He is a supporter of refugees and has addressed the issue of refugees many times. He addressed that the U.S will accept 110,000 refugees, which helped make him the chosen spokesperson for HRW.
Just Plain Folks: Refugee Children
Refugee Testimonial Ad
The chosen spokesperson for "just plain folks" is refugee children. Who else can fit this criterion better? As you take a look at the ad the expression on the children's faces shows a sign of depression and sadness. There are many refugee children that are looking for a better life but are not able to have one because of the policies that were created to give them access to the U.S. They are in need of assistance along with many others and were chosen to represent HRW.
