A short documentary about life in a community house

The short documentary  about life in Sargfabrik, (the community house in Vienna, Austria)
An experimental project in which I spent a week in the Sargfabrik community sharing the community lifestyle and exploring their way of living. It is a collection of discussions from the users and one of the architects of Sargfabrik. They share their personal opinions and experiences of not only how they live, but how their community developed over the past 30 years.

The semi-structured interviews were used to indicate the details of residents’ everyday experience in the aspects of (1) social interactions within the community, (2) interactions of community members with the spatial environment. The collected data illustrated the nuances of Sargfabrik daily life that make it very special. In addition, the format of an interview allowed to obtain the valuable insights about how the community life is organized, what factors play an important role in community functioning and developing?

The documentary is an investigation into the conception of community living arrangements. How they can begin from a group of individuals sharing a common view to live in a particular way, rather than the typical arrangement of a community having to adapt to an architects/ urbanists idea for living
