Το έργο αυτό, ένα Pop-Up βιβλίο ανθρώπινης κλίμακας, δημιουργήθηκε για τις ανάγκες του θεατρικού έργου "AN lèr piton" που ανατέθηκε από την «CIE Lolita Monga Compagnie» που έγινε τον Ιούλιο-Σεπτέμβριο του 2017.
Το σενάριο αντικατοπτρίζει την ιστορία του νησιού Ρεουνιόν και πιο συγκεκριμένα το «Maroon Culture» του νησιού, το «Marronage» (γαλλικά).
Η «marron culture» είναι ένα παγκόσμιο φαινόμενο που βρέθηκε στον Νέο Κόσμο, όταν αφρικανοί και ιθαγενείς, αρνήθηκαν να δεχθούν υποδούλωση και σχημάτισαν ανεξάρτητους οικισμούς.
Έτσι, σύμφωνα με το σενάριο, έχω προσπαθήσει να το χωρίσω σε 4 σκηνές που συνοδεύουν τον ηθοποιό κατά τη διάρκεια του παιχνιδιού του. Ο ηθοποιός,σ' ένα σόλο έργο, με την εναλλαγή των σελίδων μας αφηγείται την ιστορία μέσα από τα σχέδια που συνοδεύουν το κείμενό του.
Η κατασκευή του βιβλίου ήταν μια πραγματική πρόκληση, δεδομένου ότι θα έπρεπε να μεταφέρω τους μηχανισμούς του μοντέλου σε ανθρώπινη διάσταση, που απαιτεί ότι το βιβλίο θα είναι τόσο σταθερό όσο το μοντέλο και όχι βαρύ για το χειρισμό του.
Όλα τα pop ups είναι σχεδιασμένα και βαμμένα με μικτά μέσα (ακρυλικά, σπρέι, παστέλ) σε χαρτόνι και στο χέρι κομμένα με ηλεκτρικά πριόνια.
Το βιβλίο έχει ύψος 185 cm, πλάτος 200 cm και πάχος περίπου 30 cm μεταξύ των σελίδων.

This project,a human scale Pop-Up Book, was created for the needs of the theatrical project "AN lèr piton" commissioned from the 'CIE Lolita Monga Compagnie' made on July-September 2017.

The scenario reflects the story of Reunion Island and more specificaly the 'Maroon Culture' of the island , 'Marronage' (french). 

'Maroon culture' is a universal phenomenon found in the New World, were african and indigenous people, refused to accept enslavement and formed independent settlements.

So according to the scenario, I've tryed to divide it into 4 scenes wich accompany the actor during his play. Τhe actor, a solo play, by alternating the pages is narrating us to the story through the drawings that accompny his text.

The construction of the book was a real challenge, since I would have to transfer the mechanisms of the model to a human dimension ,wich demands that the book would be as solid as the model and not heavy for his manipulation.

All pop ups  are designed and  painted with mixed media (acrylics, sprays, pastels) in cardboard and hand cut with electric saws.

The book mesures 185 cm height,200 cm width and about 30 cm of thickness between the pages.
