Bell Centennial Name and Number Typeface Poster

Bell Centennial Name and Number Type Story Poster
Bell Centennial Name and Number was designed by Matthew Carter for use in printing telephone books. He created a typeface with ink traps that allowed for bleed that occurred in the print process. Both print posters give history on the typeface, show letter examples, and display the name of the typeface. The first poster, above, visually displays what the typeface was for by using the letterforms to create a shape of a telephone. The second poster, below, places the type in its designated use; entries of a telephone book. I went with the pale yellow so that the poster would have the feel of a yellow pages printed phone book.
