Martial Law Museum

Client: MartialLawMuseum.ph

MartialLawMuseum.ph is an interactive site launched by Ateneo de Manila university. Its main goal is to fight against revisionism by providing accurate and true facts, as well as both learning and teaching materials to raise awareness and critical thinking.

A number of illustrations were made for the site – meant to accompany a quiz that debunks the common myths being spread about the Marcoses and the Martial Law era. The illustrations were meant to be ominous, and imposing with their darkened features, highlighted by bright red accents.
Some illustrations are based on many infamous photos ingrained in each Filipino's mind when talking about Martial – one such photo is Ferdinand Marcos in his desk declaring Martial Law on the night of September 21, 1972
The illustrations depict the rampant violence and corruption of the time.
