Parranda is a Dominican-based brewery that produces fruit-flavoured beer. The beer is offered in six different flavours, each with its own colour and name. The colours are connected to the flavour of the beer and the names are based on Dominican beaches around the country. Dominicans, along with other Latin American countries, possess peculiar subcultures, one of them being the beach culture. Cars drive onto the sand, traditional Dominican music floods the atmosphere, and family and friends enjoy each other’s company.
The logo combines a series of elements that together capture this subculture, for instance, a stereo that highlights the importance of music in the culture. To further relate the design to the product, a brown paper texture is present in both the product labels and the carrying case, which resembles the paper bags where beer bottles are often contained. Additional elements include a wavy pattern found throughout the design that mimics the waves of the ocean as well as a map that highlights the six beaches that the beer flavours are based on.
