NATURE
I have, in the most literal sense of the word, thousands of nature photos. Don't we all? These are a handful of those images that I am most satisfied with. None belong to a series or specific collection. They are miscellaneous and captured in the spur of the moment. The lightning may be the best example of this spontaneous shooting nature. It may seem incredible, but I saw (and heard) a large storm approaching one evening. It had soon engulfed the location and was rumbling away. I was witnessing such beautiful strikes raining down on the landscape. Never having attempted to take a photo of lightning, I was very curious about it. I picked up my camera, jacket, and tripod and proceeded out on the balcony overlooking a lake and woods. What you see below is the 5th attempt I made at capturing the brilliant spectacle. You don't always have to have a planned out purpose or even know exactly what you want to shoot. Just shoot.
