In 2015, as part of my BA (Hons) Degree, a research-led practice project was required. My field of research involved the gendering and Disneyfication of blood in children's animated movies. The project required us to use our line of research to create a practical element. This involved writing the brief, deciding on deliverables and executing the designs.
THE BRIEF
A home away from home.
Design and develop a once off, unique hotel in a world that does not exist. The “hotel “can be anything from a small inn, a bed-and-breakfast to an upmarket boutique hotel. Capture the feeling of a “home away from home”.

A strong, black, cultural craft blood with hints of gold and bling. This blood rhymes to a beat and may result in the use of urban slang.

This mature craft blood has subtle undertones of mothballs and prunes.It is sweet, good old fashioned drink.

An unenthusiastic, melodramatic craft blood mixed with tears of sadness and despair. Like a Goth, only much less dark and much more Harry Potter. Serve with heartbreak and black eyeliner.
[ PUNK ROCKER ]
A rebellious, non-conforming craft blood that does not give a f*#k! It’s not just a taste or attitude – it’s a way of life.
This strong flavour is best served with anti-establishment and anarchy.
[ VEGAN HIPPIE ]
This free-flowing craft blood, with hints of flowers and tie-dye, is the perfect gluten-free drink for non-violent, anti-government protesters.
