Architectural Issue:

The high-priority research element in healthcare facilities is to design an environment that enhanced health and well-being of patient. Healing environment for a healthcare buildings describes a physical setting and organizational culture that supports patients and families through the stresses imposed by illness, hospitalization, medical visit, the process of healing and sometimes bereavement.

Design Intention:

1. Health care facilities should focus on health and well-being of patient rather than solely on sickness nad disease. Providing access to nature withing healthcare facilities support these evidence-based design concepts and offers opportunities for positive distractions. Positive distraction may be understood as "environmental design elements that effectively promote restoration from stress in patients, visitors and healthcare staff" (Ulrich 1992)

2. Design for Therapeutic environments. Areas may be interior or exterior and encountered physically or by sensory perception. Challenges: The main challenge for this project is to design a medical centre with complete building services and also healing environment is taken into consideration. In the surgical room and recovery room, consideration for air temperature, humidity, ventilation, pressure, lighting, water treatment system and waste disposal system. Privacy of patients or flow of patients and medical staff is another crucial element. Hence, in order to design a functional medical centre at a contour site, an underground capsule car is introduced.
