PROJECT / CLIENT OVERVIEW
I am a freelance graphic designer who specializes in logo (corporate identity), poster and banner design and a YouTuber, who makes videos on graphic design tutorials, design speed arts, design advice, technology tips, etc.

WHAT & WHY
I needed to design a new logo for myself since my current logo was created long ago when I was not a fully competent designer (not even at the threshold). Hence, it looked pretty unprofessional (just being honest not self-deprecating; lacked the semantics, syntactically inconsistent and not versatile).

RESEARCH and EXPLORATION
Normally the problem had to be defined by the client before getting started but since this was my own logo I knew what I wanted. This step was quite easy for me since it was my own logo. After an analysis session of my audience and a self-analysis session. I figured out some concepts on which the logo could have been base on. Which was:
   Qualities
   Values
   Goals
   Mindset
   And what My AUDIENCE liked.

I chose the options: my mindset, the initials of my name and what my AUDIENCE liked.
SKETCHING
The sketches were based on options I chose after the research and exploration. I tried out various ideas on the paper on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side I further developed 3 of my sketches after the trial.

CONCEPTS
COLOR SELECTION
A trial on color was run. A scheme was selected for experimental purposes from coolors.co. The color choice was based on the demographics of my social media account (mainly my YouTube Channel).
The picture below displays the demographics of my YouTube channel which was one of the data used to evaluate all possible color choices.
TYPOGRAPHY RESEARCH
Since it was an abstract logo I chose 4 sans serif fonts (for commercial) and ran a trial where the font Hind was chosen due its modern look (also readability) which conveyed the same feeling of consistency.
GUIDELINES (AND ACCENTS) AND CONSTRUCTION MEASURES
When it comes to graphic design it's more about the optical measurements but applying some mathematics does help to employ the principles successfully.
FINALIZATION
After the creation process was over, I tried to make sure everything was alright by using the following checklist:

Is the logo for the company or a product?

What is the overall mood of the company?
   Playful?
   Serious?
   Ultra-professional?

Should the logo reflect the mood of the company or is it stand-alone?

Do you envision something techy or more organic?

Any colors you have in mind?

What is the primary product of the company?

What are the demographics of your customers?

What is the purpose of the logo?
