Green + The Gent Skincare



Green + The Gent is a new skincare brand for men, using organic ingredients only.
When the two founders were traveling, they loved going to barber shops along their way. Back in Germany they realized that this grooming ritual is not very common there and that it´s also hard to find good skincare products with high quality but natural ingredients for men. The idea for their own skincare brand was born.

The name is based on their product philosophy –
Organic ingredients meet the needs of the modern gentleman.

The product range contains Face Wash, Face Tonic, Moisturizing Cream, Face + Shave Oil and Body Wash using ingredients such as hops, safflower and paracress,
plus a safety razor with extra blades.

We were commissioned to develop the naming, full brand identity, logo, packaging and e-commerce shop.



The logo is using the typeface Zirkon Heavy
to give the brand a strong and self-confident feel.
For small titles and body copies, the "Zirkon Monospaced" was exclusively developed for the Green + The Gent identity by our dear friend and badass type designer Tobias Rechsteiner. The monospaced style is based on the idea of the the Grooming Ritual and shaving tradition.
We designed the full packaging for the products – product labels and outer packaging. The products are filled into black glass bottles, so the organic ingredients are well protected against day light. (UV raditiation decreases the shelf life of products without any preservatives). Only the Shampoo + Body Wash is filled into PET bottles due to safety reasons.
As for the product labels, we established a bold but minimalistic design,
using a Dark Pantone Green and a Warm Grey.

The product labels were printed on waterproof matte labels.
Spot-Varnish was applied to the graphic lines on the front.
As for the outer packaging, we adapted the label look for the front side.
The sides contain text about the ingredients and how to use the product,
both in German and in English.
The logo was embossed into the top of the outer packaging.
The logo was engraved into the shaving head of the The Razor,
a classic safety razor for wet shaving.
THE RAZOR is sold in a separate slipcase, together with separate blades.
The razor was manufactured by Giesen & Forsthoff,
a high quality traditional manufacturer from Solingen, Germany.
We also designed their website. Since the brand started selling online only,
the e-commerce shop was in the focus. Due to the small product range we picked Woocommerce as a light and fast-loading solution.

The whole website was set up in less than four months
(Wireframing, prototyping, design phase, development and implementation).
Together with our partner CodeControl we realized development
and implementation of the shop.
