Night On Earth is a 1991 film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. It is a collection of five stories, taking place during the same night, between taxi driver and passenger in five cities—Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome, and Helsinki.
In this assignment, the use of a computer was not allowed for composing. I could only use tools like hands, scissors, X-Acto knives, Xerox and tapes for composing. Computers were only used for scanning, sizing and finishing.
My poster design focused on the environment of the five stories—taxis—and the fact that these stories happened around the world. I put the lightbox on the earth and wrote the title of the movie Night On Earth on the lightbox.
The title Night On Earth is wrapped around the light box and a line was added in order to indicate the edge of the earth. This gave the poster the flexibility to be applied to any ratio with very little change.
