This collection came together whilst heavily pregnant with my first child. My feelings as a mother-to-be were confusing, I wasn't feeling gracious nor did I discovered a soft and caring side of myself. Instead, I felt a certain aggressiveness towards my surroundings, my biological reaction to protect my unborn baby? Maybe. Nevertheless, I felt hugely creative and my thoughts wandered, unsurprisingly, towards an idea of cocoon. The Balenciaga picture below became my starting point.
