Ivan Mack

Ivan Mack spent a year documenting the current roller derby scene in the north of England. The sport is in flux as it moves from amateur to professional and Transitions documents this moment in time.

Shot entirely on film, Transitions follows several teams as they practice, compete, celebrate and commiserate. The limited edition, hand-bound book features a letterpress-printed typographic cover inspired by the pack of skaters as they hustle for position on the track.

The book was launched with a month long exhibition of large format photography from the book along with additional photography take over the year.
