Hampton Inn & Suites West Des Moines

With an increasing number of events held at the Iowa Event Center and Hy-Vee Conference Center, West Des Moines was in need of a new hotel to accommodate visitors. Since neighboring hotels were in need of major renovations, the client and I designed this hotel to be very trendy and eye-catching to those looking for accommodations online.
Interior Concept
The hotel owner and I decided to alter an existing scheme designed for the Hampton brand, into one with Marakesh influences through the inclusion of bright, very saturated colors. Of course, we kept the very recognizable Hampton Inn blue, but gave the palette a more global feel with the inclusion of oranges, yellows, and turquoise. In an attempt to create a more comforting space for guests, we integrated a mix of furnishings reminiscent of a residential space, in the lobby and breakfast areas. We decided to tone down the color scheme in the guest rooms to help put guests at ease during their down time.
