Art direction
Since the location was set at a quaint cafe situated in a quiet corner of Setagaya, Japan, we decided to create a certain ambient with warm colours, offset by a contrast of cool shadows.
The style of illustration is a combination of mine and Michael's (co-contributor) and we decided to play with the straight, symmetrical lines of the provided photograph. Texture was later added along the edges and in the shadows to give a slight edge.
