The Milestone Project
The Challenge
Captured a major milestone project showing company's celebration of 20 year history of innovation. It was a monumental effort to bring a project together that took several months to collect all the stories and accomplishments. In order to capture some of the moments from the inception of the company, we had to dig through piles of photographs that were not organized and needed to be scanned. I had team members and staff from other departments help me gather albums and we had to sort through thousands of photos to make sure the book was inclusive. I interviewed 9 senior executives who have been with the company over 10 years and other staff members to collect stories and project milestones. Some stories and facts needed to be validated and cross-checked which was challenging in itself. There were newspaper stories, archives from press releases, and newsletters that were all pieced together to create the content.
The Process
The goal was to achieve a book design that would not only end up on a coffee table but would highlight all the success and the two decade long journey. I worked with a PR agency firm who helped with content development and writing. The interview questions and responses were gathered from disparate sources and consolidated into a single document. In addition, I had a staff member who helped me scan 400 plus images from old albums. All the photos were then organized by year and events which made it easier for selection process. After sorting through all the images, we narrowed down to 103 images that were used.
