Diamond Head Crater hike is a popular, short (30-45 minutes) trek up a paved trail on Oahu. The peak gives you a remarkable view of Waikiki. Lots of hikers will take vehicles to the crater but I prefer to Biki bike from Waikiki Beach to Montserrat Ave.; stop at Banan Bowl ($4-12 a bowl) truck to get some natural energy before the trek; and walk beautiful Montserrat Ave. to Diamond Head. The walk in the sun will leave you thirsty, and that's a perfect excuse to hit the shaved ice truck there and enjoy an ice cold coconut ($6).
