The Melicena website is basically a huge canvas which you can explore by swiping around the website. The majority of the images required transparency as everything was arranged in a perspective parallax.

To reduce the page size, we developed a rendering engine which is able to create RGBA images with a JPEG and a PNG-8 mask image, reducing the asset size by more than 50% compared to a PNG-24.
