As artists, its part of our job to immortalize — or at least try — the temporary. On my aunt and uncle's eighteenth wedding anniversary, we were graced by the beauty of lotus flowers. It only took three days for every petal to eventually fall down. 

These are works to commemorate what had been our dining table centerpiece: the withered petals preserved in photos as crowns of non-existent flower girls.

Dead, but nonetheless beautiful.
