The Sugar & Spice Soiree is an annual benefit event thrown by a Charleston non-profit organization, for which I had the opportunity to create a potential invitation package. As the Soiree is a lighthearted, fun fall event in the South, I created a whimsical aesthetic and warm, earthy color scheme for the event package theme. The leafy vine is reminiscent of yellow Jessamine; that, along with the subtle yellow gingham background, conveys a sense of Southern tradition. The hand-drawn typography meshes well with the organic feel of the illustrations, and adds a unique, personal flair that the viewer can relate to.
In order to keep costs down for the non-profit, I avoided envelopes and instead created a USPS regulation size postcard for the Save the Date and RSVP. They can both fit on a standard 8.5"x11" sheet of paper when being printed. Additionally, the 2-sided invitation is more cost effective to print than a folded card.
