Three Wise Monkeys, known in Japanese as Mizaru, Kikazaru and Iwazaru. Otherwise known as "See No Evil", "Hear No Evil and "Speak No Evil".
Of course, these metaphorical monkeys don't really exist - they are representations of the guiding principle espoused by philosophers of ancient Asian civilizations. Sadly, a rarely followed principle.
These paintings are Mai's interpretation of the guiding principle. Through them, Mai hopes to espouse harmony and to remind us to seek inner peace in our lives.
