MY HOMETOWN

In my artwork I've decided to work with the visual appearance of my hometown (Ústí nad Labem) and focus on how it is spoiled with hideous adds. I studied and lived in different city for 4 years. I became a stranger to this town and now I am able to percieve it from another point of view, which I am not satisfied with. Going through town gives a person very negative feeling inside. I am not happy, I am not enjoying the city view.

I did not try to get rid of advertising surfaces complitely, nor manipulate advertising itself, as some artists have done before.
I covered areas with its own background color, which makes it look clean and ordered. I intended some cleansing,
not just of the city views, but also of human psyche overwhelmed with all sorts of problems. Lyrical abstraction ispired me
at the beginning by its psychological sparkle, which is carried by the fields of colors and even the similarities with the cleansed adds and some artworks of lyrical abstraction artists. Although these artists have dealt with the theory of colors and color spaces did not placed randomly, even randomly placed colour can give the public space a harmonic feeling. I love the difference between the original and the pure image. As a form of presentation I created a moving picture where the original photo
is entering into the cleansed one and disturbs it. It symbolizes the colaps of the messy reality into its very (pure and calm) essence.
