CLIENT AND PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, located in Vancouver BC, wanted to create an eye-catching pop-up banner for their main lobby in order to promote their rooftop garden and honey bee tours. Their 2100 square foot garden is home to five beehives and over 500,000 honeybees producing 250 lbs of honey on site each year.
In 2008, Fairmont saw an opportunity to help combat Colony Collapse Disorder by placing honeybee hives on hotel rooftop gardens and other onsite locations. Fairmont Waterfront was the first luxury hotel brand to develop onsite honeybee programming and is now considered the leading hotel company in this space.
