Practice with converting color images to black and white. Edited in Camera Raw. Beyond basic editing (Exposure, Contrast, Highlights/Shadows, Whites/Blacks, Clarity), I used the adjustment brush to mask the sky and reduce the noise in the sky in particular using Noise Reduction and greatly reducing Sharpness. I also used Tone Curve to further increase contrast to bring out more of the castle's texture.
